Natural Beauty Meets Digital Excellence
Jatra Naturals is an Edinburgh-based beauty brand specializing in skincare products made from natural, ethically-sourced ingredients. Known for blending traditional knowledge with modern beauty standards, they built a loyal following through their commitment to wellness and sustainability. However, their existing website wasn’t reflecting the premium quality of their products or converting visitors effectively. Kee Digital Media redesigned their ecommerce platform to create a refined digital experience that matches their product quality, resulting in a 43% increase in sales and positioning them for expansion across new UK markets.

Data-driven redesign improving aesthetics and performance
Optimised navigation and checkout flow
Converting Beauty Into Business
The original website had fundamental issues preventing sales. High bounce rates suggested visitors couldn’t find what they needed. Cart abandonment rates were well above industry averages, indicating friction in the checkout process. Mobile performance lagged, despite most beauty product research happening on smartphones. These weren’t superficial problems requiring visual polish but structural issues demanding strategic solutions.
Our approach combined analytics with user testing. We mapped actual user journeys to identify drop-off points, then redesigned the experience around how customers actually shop for natural skincare. Product discovery became intuitive through improved categorization and filtering. Ingredient transparency, crucial for natural beauty consumers, was elevated with detailed product pages that educate while selling. The checkout process was streamlined from six steps to three, eliminating unnecessary fields and offering guest checkout to reduce friction.
Technical performance improvements were equally crucial. Lazy loading ensures product images don’t slow initial page load. A custom product recommendation engine suggests complementary items based on browsing behavior and skin concerns. The site now loads in under two seconds on mobile, keeping potential customers engaged rather than frustrated. These technical and strategic improvements working together created the 43% sales increase, not surface-level redesign alone.
